Very Light Jet / VLJ
Very Light Jets, also known as VLJs, often operate on routes considered short-haul flights. These aircraft embody the description of air taxis; due to the short distances they will be flying, they can operate at lower altitudes than most commercial aircraft. VLJs are able to land on shorter runways, on average 3,000 ft, which opens up the doors to jets being able to fly routes traditionally served only by turbo-prop aircraft.
